5 Keys to Improving Bone Density

Improving bone density is crucial to treating and preventing osteoporosis. The five points below cover the basics of how bioDensity works, and highlight the importance of taking a bone density test to prevent becoming disabled with age.

1. Wolff’s Law

Wolff’s Law is the only physiologic law that relates to bone growth and it states that bones remodel and adapt to the loads placed upon them, therefore failure to load bone results in failure to stimulate new bone. 2. Evidence

Research in a UK based study of adolescents from 2012 used high speed accelerometers and bone density tests to monitor how dynamic movements effected bone mineral growth. Bone density tests showed that running and jumping that created upwards of 4.2 g’s of impact was positively related to increased hip bone mineral density, meanwhile impacts below this threshold (walking, jogging) may have little benefit or effect on bone mineral density.
